26 Jan Is Snapchat About to Make Some Major Enemies?
After declining Facebook’s rather generous offer to buy Snapchat for three BILLION dollars back in 2013, it’s fair to say that founders Spiegel, Murphy and Brown have a lot of confidence in their creation.
The latest leak to take the social media world by storm has lead us all to believe that Snapchat may well be rivalling Facebook, FaceTime and our old friend Skype with the introduction of video chat.
The leaked screenshots of chat interface ChatV2 (above) imply boosted audio and video features that would entitle users to share their world for – wait for it – MORE than 15 seconds. Banishing the to-and-fro of normal snapchats and ignoring the current ability to supposedly live talk on the slightly ludicrously named SnapChatChat (has anyone ever used that little blue button on purpose anyway?), the images suggest that in the future, this button will allow users will be able to have fully-fledged video chats, featuring the all iconic stickers that the app has become famous for. After all, who doesn’t want to be able to vomit rainbows incessantly whilst catching up with pals?
Though Snapchat have declined to comment on the leaked screenshots, we can’t help but want to see what might happen should the app go head-to-head with some of social media’s most prevalent giants. After all, it’s already surpassed expectations as a passing fad!
